Corn futures dropped today after the USDA said farmers will plant 97 million acres of corn, up from 89.7 million last year. The average analyst estimate for 2020 was 94.1 million, according to Bloomberg. In addition, a crash in the ethanol market, which typically consumes a third of the corn harvest, has raised concerns about demand.
