Uralkali Appoints New CEO

Uralkali, Moscow, has announced the appointment of Vitaly Lauk as CEO of the company, effective Dec. 4, 2020. He will succeed Dmitry Osipov, who will resign from the position on Dec. 3 to focus on other projects at Uralkali. Lauk currently is Uralkali’s Technical Director.

The spokesperson of Uralkali major shareholder and Deputy Chairman and Uralchem owner and Chairman, Dmitry Mazepin, last week confirmed a management reshuffle at the two companies, and said next year current management of Uralkali and Uralchem will be merged and transferred to the head of a joint management company. Mazepin has refuted speculation by some Russian media that a merger of the two companies is planned for 2021.
