Western Cornbelt:
The ammonium nitrate market was unchanged at $640-$650/st FOB Missouri terminals in early October.
Brazil:
The restrictions imposed on ammonium nitrate exports by the Russian government continue to hit Brazil. Imports for January-September were reported at 534,000 mt by Trade Data Monitor, down 52% from the 1.1 million mt imported during the same period in 2021. The main suppliers in the first three quarters were Russia with 498,000 mt, the US with 22,000, and the Netherlands with 10,000 mt.
September 2022 imports were reported at 146,800 mt, down from the 261,000 mt imported during September 2021. Almost all the tonnage – 146,700 mt – came from Russia, with the US sending 22,000 mt for its first shipments in three years.
Third-quarter imports of ammonium nitrate were reported at 366,000 mt, down from the 575,000 mt imported during the same period in 2021. Russia sent 342,000 mt of the total.
