Sulfur

Tampa:

No movement was reported in negotiations for the first-quarter 2024 Tampa molten sulfur contract. Sources expect a decline from the fourth quarter’s $102/lt CFR.

US Gulf:

The US Gulf export market remained at $66-$72/mt FOB for the week, with players noting soft sentiment in most markets.

Brazil:

Brazil prices continued to slip during the week, to $94-$99/mt CFR from $98-$104/mt CFR at last report.

Vancouver:   

Vancouver prices pulled back to $70-$75/mt FOB, a $5/mt decline from the prior $75-$80/mt FOB range.

Alberta:

Alberta netbacks continued at (-)$13-$30/mt FOB, with both molten sulfur cargoes contracted into the US market and solid tons sold through the Vancouver export market represented in the range.

West Coast:

West Coast prilled sulfur softened to $70-$75/mt FOB. Fourth-quarter molten sulfur contracts were reported at $85-$90/lt FOB.

China:

Import prices at China continued at $102-$105/mt CFR, steady from the prior report. In addition to China’s restrictions on phosphate exports, sources reported a slowdown in advance of the upcoming local holidays, triggering expectations of lower prices ahead.

ADNOC:

Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) sulfur was posted at $87/mt FOB Ruwais for loading in December, a decrease of 13% from $100/mt FOB in November.

Qatar:

December offers from Muntajat were reported at $85/mt FOB Ras Laffan, down 13.3% from November’s $98/mt FOB posting.
