France to Provide €149 M for Clean Hydrogen Plant

France will provide €149 million ($162 million) to a clean hydrogen production project led by startup Lhyfe in Le Havre, according to Bloomberg.

The money will go toward construction of a 100-megawatt electrolyzer that will produce hydrogen for a Yara International ASA fertilizer factory in the port city. That output will replace 15% of the natural gas used there, according to a statement from the government, which plans to reduce pollution from 50 of the country’s top-emitting industrial sites.
