U.K.-based Glasson Fertilisers reports that it has reached agreement to purchase the Helm U.K. fertilizer business and blending plant located in the port of Howden.

Intrepid 4Q MOP Volumes Up 34 Percent
Intrepid Potash Inc. reported a 34 percent increase in potash volumes for the fourth-quarter ending Dec. 31, 2020. However, the company posted a loss for the quarter of $711,000 compared to the year-ago net income of $2.1 million. The company cited lower fertilizer prices and the impact of COVID-19 on its water business which supplies the oil and gas business.
Tampa Ammonia at $445/mt
Tampa ammonia for March has been concluded at $445/mt CFR, up $115/mt from February’s $330/mt CFR. Sources had been predicting a significant increase due to tight supplies and higher prices at other locations.
Russia to Investigate Mineral Fertilizer Pricing
Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service plans to investigate mineral fertilizer pricing, according to a Feb. 25 statement cited by the Russian media. It plans to meet with producers and quickly take measures if it finds signs of overcharging.
LSB 4Q Ag Volumes Up 64 Percent
LSB Industries Inc. reported a 64 percent increase in fourth-quarter Ag segment sales volumes to 233,942 st from the year-ago 142,488 st. UAN volumes were up 105 percent. However, prices were off from year-ago levels.
“Our substantial year-over-year increase in production volume more than offset the continued pricing headwinds on fertilizer sales and the pandemic-related impact on industrial and mining demand that we experienced during the quarter, said Mark Behrman, LSB President and CEO. “Despite the challenges we faced across our end markets, we still generated a 44 percent year-over-year increase in adjusted EBITDA for the period.”
New Ammonia Trade Up $70/mt
Nutrien Ltd. has confirmed a purchase of 25,000 mt of ammonia from Fertiglobe out of Algeria which will be loaded in late March or early April to be delivered to the U.S. The company says the purchase reflects a delivered cost of $470/mt, which is up from the last done of $400/mt. In the meantime, the industry awaits March business for Tampa, which was concluded at $330/mt DEL for February.
LSB, Nutrien Plants Returning to Production
LSB Industries Inc. said today that on Sunday, Feb. 21, it began the phased restart of its Pryor, Okla., facility which was taken out of service due to cold weather that spurred a surge in natural gas prices as well as a pipeline curtailment. In addition, a gas supplier to the company’s El Dorado, Ark., plant declared force majeure on Feb. 17, materially restricting supply. However that plant has since returned to production.
Nutrien Ltd., reports that its Borger, Texas, plant is expected to return to production this week, as is its Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, plant.
DAP Export Price Up
New U.S. Export DAP business has been concluded this week at $580/mt for a 7,000 mt lot to Latin America, up $50/mt from the last done.
Anuvia Raises $103 M
Anuvia™ Plant Nutrients today announced it has raised $103 million in Series C funding. It will use the financing to increase production capacity and expand commercialization of its nutrient delivery technology.
Heringer Sells Plant
Brazil’s Fertilizantes Heringer has sold its Minas Gerais blending plant to Cibra, which is majority owned by U.S.-based Omimex Resources for US$10.25 million.
