Merichem Co., Houston, reported that it has received a contract from KBR, Houston, to provide its sulfur removal technology for NeuRizer’s carbon-neutral fertilizer project in Australia. Merichem will provide engineering for its technology to remove approximately 14 mt/d of elemental sulfur from almost 200 MMSCFD of amine acid gas using its Lo-Cat H2S removal process.
Merichem noted that NeuRizer will be the first fully integrated urea production facility in the world leveraging a configuration for in-situ syngas production, gas processing, power production, ammonia and urea manufacturing, and carbon geo-sequestration.
