Intrepid Potash Inc., Denver, Colo., on June 23 announced a $35/st increase on all Trio® grades, effective immediately. New postings FOB Carlsbad, N.M., include $320/st for standard, $355/st for granular, $365/st for premium, $395/st for OMRI standard and fine standard, and $430/st for OMRI granular.
The Trio increase follows a $90/st price hike for potash that Intrepid announced on June 22. “Continued strong demand throughout June, combined with higher potash prices, continues to increase the underlying potassium value of our Trio product,” the company said.
The Tampa ammonia price for July has moved up $50/mt to $585/mt CFR from June’s $535/mt CFR. Sources had been predicting a Tampa uptick citing higher international prices.
“Today it’s not our
focus,” said Nutrien Executive Vice-President of Potash Ken Seitz, when
asked about potential for cooperation with BHP, in an interview reported by the
National Post. “I’ll just say
that everything you’ve seen is speculative and inaccurate.”
There has been much speculation that
BHP, which is nearing a final decision on proceeding with its Jansen potash
project, might partner with Nutrien.
