Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile SA (SQM) reported Sept. 17 that the earthquake that occurred Sept. 16 in central Chile did not damage SQM production facilities, which continue to operate normally. SQM said there were no accidents or injuries involving its workers that live in the areas affected by the earthquake; however, SQM is providing support to those workers who require it.
