Regina-Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Inc. reported net earnings of $7.9 million on sales of $448.2 million for the second quarter ending Jan. 31, 2007, compared to the year-ago $2.9 million and $367.7 million, respectively. Excluding one-time items, SaskPool generated net earnings from continuing operations of $8.7 million, up from a year-ago loss of $2 million. Fertilizer sales were off 14.1 percent during the quarter at $71.7 million from the year-ago $83.4 million. Total Agri-Product sales were down 9.7 percent to $80.1 million from $88.7 million. Six month SaskPool earnings were $2.8 million on sales of $789.5 million versus a year-ago loss of $4.7 million and sales of $641.7 million. Six month fert sales were off 13.6 percent to $105 million from $121.5 million. Total Agri sales were off 9.9 percent to $129 million from $143.2 million.
