Tel Aviv-Israel Chemicals Ltd. has acquired Firetrol Protection Systems, a Salt Lake City-based U.S. company that develops phosphate-based fire retardant and extinguishing products. ICL is expected to merge Firetrol with Astaris, which ICL bought in 2005. The deal reportedly makes ICL the world leader in fire protection products.
