Moscow-Director General of JSC MHK Eurochem Dmitry Strezhney and Volgograd Regional Governor Nikolay Maksuta have signed an agreement in which Eurochem will develop the Gremyachinskoye deposit situated in Volgograd and build an ore mining and processing enterprise based on the deposit for the purpose of producing potash fertilizers. Eurochem will invest up to 50 billion rubles (US$2 billion) in the construction of the Gremyachinskoye ore mining and processing enterprise. Eurochem says that once it begins potash production, it will be the first Russian company to produce nitrogen, phosphate, and potash. Eurochem also plans to invest 132 million rubles (US$5.3 million) in the Krasnodar Territory in 2007.
