Transammonia Inc. announced Sept. 25 that Erzin Atac has left the company to pursue other career opportunities, effective Sept. 30, 2007. He was most recently president of the company’s fertilizer division, located in Tampa, Fla.

“During the course of the many years with our group, Erzin has contributed in a major way to the success of our company, both in Europe and in the United States. We wish him success in the further pursuit of his professional career,” said the company in a statement.

Transammonia said it would be reorganizing the structure of its worldwide fertilizer division under the leadership of Henk van Dalfsen and Christian Wendel. At the same time, Brent Hart has been appointed president, Fertilizers North America.


Rick Phillips, who has been with Simplot in public affairs since 1990, has been named the agribusiness giant’s director of corporate communications and public relations, located at the company’s headquarters in Boise. He succeeds Fred Zerza, who recently retired after serving 27 years in the company’s public relations department. Phillips joined Simplot in 1990 in Pocatello as manager of public affairs for the minerals and chemical division, the forerunner of the agribusiness group. He also worked for the Idaho Dept. of Agriculture.
