Israel Chemicals Ltd. has announced that Charles Weidhas has been appointed president and CEO of ICL Performance Products, a major global manufacturer and marketer of specialty phosphates with over $1 billion in sales, headquartered in St. Louis, Mo. Weidhas has over 25 years of experience, including work with Monsanto and Solutia Inc. Most recently, he was general manager of Solutia’s specialty products division. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering and an MBA, both from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.

Weidhas’s appointment coincides with the move of current president and CEO Richard Kennedy, Jr. to the new role of chairman, ICL North America. Besides providing support during the transition, Mr. Kennedy will be working on integrating all of ICL’s North American businesses to improve synergies and streamline administrative functions. In addition, Kennedy will be involved in the integration of recently acquired US businesses (such as Supresta) and realizing synergies between the new and existing businesses in ICL’s US activity.


Compass Minerals has announced the appointment of Jerry Bucan as vice president and general manager of its consumer and industrial business, effective Nov. 12, 2007. He has experience with ConAgra Foods Inc., Dean Foods, Mission Foods, and Nestle Food Co. He holds an MBA in finance and a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from the University of Wisconsin.

Bucan replaces Keith Clark, who in September was named vice president and general manager of Compass Minerals’ North American highway business, effective January 1, 2008.
