Calgary-Encanta Resources is reported to have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN) that could lead to potash exploration on Indian lands. According to the Star Phoenix, Encanta, a private oil and gas company with no potash experience, expects to spend up to $25 million to explore 400,000 acres of First Nations land in Western Canada.
