Calgary-Agrium Inc. said last week that it is accelerating its development of a new mine in Saskatchewan, spending some $50 million in the current fiscal year on capital expenditures for the project, versus the earlier allotted $10 million. The new mine is on 190,000 leased acres near Yorkton and Melville, Sask. The completion date for the project is 2014.
