Ohio manure expo generates high interest

London, Ohio-With fertilizer prices continuing to soar and crop producers looking for alternatives, a large turnout – if not the largest – is expected at the 2008 Great Lakes Manure Handling Expo July 9 at Molly Carem Agricultural Center here, according to the organizers. Tami Combs, extension program coordinator at Ohio State University, told Green Markets there aren’t any definite figures on attendance because the expo is free and registration isn’t required. “Our goal is 1,500, but we are hoping to have close to 2,000 attend,” Combs reported. The year-ago head count was 1,300 when it was held in Michigan.
