Peter Baumann, Transammonia Inc.’s president and CEO, passed away March 2, 2009 in Zurich, Switzerland, at age 64. He joined the trading company in 1967. He is survived by his wife, Annelies, his three daughters, and four grandchildren.

Ronald Stanton, founder of the company, praised Baumann as “a brilliant trader and businessman, with a well earned reputation for the highest standards of integrity in the industry. He was also committed to helping developing communities in many regions, through a charitable foundation he established. Baumann trained and mentored many of the most successful fertilizer traders working today. His crowning achievement was developing the very able cadre of executives who succeed him at Transammonia and who will continue to follow his example of dedication and excellence.”

Transammonia’s fertilizer division will remain under the leadership of Henk van Dalfsen, Chris Wendel, and Brent Hart.


Keytrade North America, Inc. has announced the addition of Sarah Terrell as director of trading effective March 9, 2009. She comes to Keytrade from Sulphuric Acid Trading Company (SATCO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Interacid Trading S.A., where she has worked since 2005. Kincannon & Reed, a global executive search firm that focuses exclusively on the food, agribusiness, and life sciences sectors, has added three new principals. Ellen von Fange will be based in Washington, D.C. She has worked with Terra Industries Inc., General Electric, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. John Reasner has been added in Arizona. He has many years of experience in human resources and is a graduate of Monmouth College. Warren Ward will be based in Dallas. He has experience with Scott Paper Co., Ralston Purina, and Nestle, and received a finance degree from Texas Christian University.
