Ammonia leak kills S.C. woman

Swansea, S.C.-Jacqueline Patrice Ginyard, 38, was killed Wednesday, July 15, around 8:00 a.m. when she drove into an anhydrous ammonia cloud released from a tanker truck unloading at a Tanner Industries Inc. facility, according to The State newspaper. Her car reportedly stalled once she entered the cloud. More than half a dozen others were reportedly sent to local hospitals. Estimates were that nearly 2,000 pounds leaked. A local fire fighter was credited with quickly blocking the road so that others would not drive into the cloud.
