Perth-Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers has announced that South Korean company Samsung C&T Corp. has agreed to invest A$40 million in its Collie Urea Project. It had already been announced that Samsung’s sister company, Samsung Engineering, will undertake the lead engineering, procurement, and construction role in the project. Perdaman says the project is on track to obtain relevant approvals by the end of 2009, with a financial close by mid-2010. The A$3.5 billion project is expected to produce 3,500 mt/d of urea and be completed in 2013.
