Lance Reeder has joined The Mosaic Co. as a new account manager, covering the Delta region in the Southern U.S. He lives in Flora, Miss., and comes to Mosaic from Kemira, where he served as a senior account manager for the past four years. He worked for Syngenta for 18 years. Reeder will be managing Mosaic accounts in Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama, and will report to Dave Finken.
Eric Rehtmeyer was named Growmark associate market manager, nitrogen, effective Jan. 3. He will be responsible for providing assistance in purchasing/positioning supplies of urea and UAN, providing pricing direction to agronomy area sales managers, and managing supply positions by source and time period. Rehtmeyer has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Illinois, and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management. Prior to joining Growmark, he worked for CF Industries Holdings Inc. in various areas of management and sales pertaining to plant food.
Keith Hufendick has been named general manager, Two Rivers FS, Inc., Rushville, Ill., a division of Growmark Inc., effective Jan.1, 2011. He succeeds Ron Tomhave, who retired. Hufendick holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Northeast Missouri State University. He has held various positions in the Growmark System, including assistant controller, controller, and area marketing manager. He served as general manager of Woodford FS Inc. and Livingston Service Co. prior to being named general manager of Lincoln Land FS Inc. in 2005.
Mike Turner has been named manager of the Illini FS Division of Growmark, headquartered in Urbana, Ill. He took over the position on Jan. 1, 2011, succeeding Roger Read, who retired. Turner has held various positions in the Growmark regional cooperative system, including assistant controller, controller, Central Region administrative director, Northern Region business manager, and most recently Madison Service Company general manager, a position he has held since 2006. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northeast Missouri State University, and earned a CPA designation. Growmark owns the FS trademark, which is used by affiliated member cooperatives.
J. Paul Konrad has been named chief operating officer for the agronomy division of West Central Cooperative, headquartered in Ralston, Iowa. Konrad has been with West Central since 2009, most recently as crop nutrient procurement and merchandising director. He has more than 20 years of experience in the agronomy and crop nutrients industries, having previously held positions ranging from regional director to senior marketing manager with companies such as Land O’Lakes, Agriliance, and Farmland Industries. In his new position at West Central, he will assume primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the co-op’s agronomy division. Konrad is a graduate of the University of Wyoming, with a degree in ag business.
“Paul has been a valued asset for West Central and this new role presents an opportunity to use his experience and expertise to further grow the agronomy division as COO,” said Harry Ahrenhotlz, West Central’s executive vice president of agronomy.
West Central is a farmer-owned cooperative, marketing products throughout most of North America and to several foreign destinations. The company operates a licensed public grain warehouse, provides grain marketing services, processes soybeans, and supplies feed, fertilizer, chemicals, and other merchandise for its members. West Central is the sixteenth largest grain company in North America, with 3,148 stockholders.
PotashCorp said Jan. 1 that Barbara Jane Irwin, senior vice president, administration, notified the company that she will retire effective Jan. 1, 2011.
