St. Paul-CHS Inc.’s Ag Business unit led the way for the company in posting record second-quarter and first-half results for the period ending Feb. 29, 2008. The Ag Business, which includes crop nutrients, retail operations, and grain marketing, reported second-quarter earnings of $120.0 million versus the year-ago $2.7 million. Six-month earnings were $324.7 million versus $30.8 million. Company-wide, CHS reported second-quarter earnings of $168.0 million on sales of $6.9 billion, versus the year-ago $83.7 million and $3.7 billion, respectively. Six-month earnings were $468.9 million on sales of $13.4 billion, compared to the year-ago $220.1 million and $7.5 billion.
