US Gulf:
The NOLA potash market
remained at $320-$325/st FOB for the latest business, unchanged from last week.
Eastern Cornbelt:
Potash slipped to
$375-$400/st FOB in the Eastern Cornbelt, down from last week’s $390-$415/st
FOB range, with the low confirmed in Illinois for December-January offers. The
Cincinnati market was pegged at $380-$400/st FOB in late December.
Western Cornbelt:
Potash dropped to $370-$400/st FOB in the Western Cornbelt, depending on location, with the St. Louis market reported at $370-$390/st FOB for the latest offers.
California:
Potash pricing
remained at $530-$553/st FOB or DEL in California, depending on grade and
location.
Pacific Northwest:
Potash was
unchanged at $482-$508/st FOB or DEL in Pacific Northwest, with the high
reflecting reference pricing for 62% MOP. The last postings from Intrepid FOB
Moab and Wendover, Utah, included $435/st FOB for 60% white standard and
$440/st for 60% white granular.
Western Canada:
Potash truck
pricing in Western Canada was unchanged at C$575-$585/mt FOB Saskatchewan mines
for November-December tons, depending on grade.
India:
November-October
potash imports firmed 13% year-over-year, according to Trade Data Monitor,
to 2.7 million mt from 2.4 million mt. India received 400,000 mt in October,
above the 278,000 mt received one year earlier.
China:
Potash
imports totaled 10.5 million mt in January-November, Trade Data Monitor
reported, a 42% increase from the year-ago 7.4 million mt. Belarus sent 3
million mt, ahead of 2.7 million mt from Russia. November imports were
1.2 million mt, up from 639,000 mt in November 2022.
Brazil:
Imported potash prices dropped 6.5% week-over-week, to
$285-$295/mt CFR from $305-$315/mt CFR, while rumors of lower prices went
unconfirmed. A healthy expected import line-up has led sellers to offer pricing
on a formula basis, sources said.
Rondonópolis prices weakened significantly,
softening to $420-$450/mt FOB ex-warehouse from last week’s $440-$450/mt FOB,
following the drop in CFR prices. Offer levels varied widely, and some
suppliers seeking to thin high inventories were reportedly open to discounts.
