Sulfur

Tampa:

Second-quarter Tampa molten sulfur contracts were noted at $81/lt CFR, a 17.4% increase from $69/lt CFR in the first quarter.

US Gulf:

US Gulf sulfur prices were under pressure, falling to $80-$85/mt FOB from the week-ago $90-$95/mt FOB, with players reporting a negative sentiment dominating the market.

Brazil:

Brazil imports softened to $110-$115/mt CFR, down $5-$8/mt from last week’s $118-$120/mt CFR.

Vancouver:   

Vancouver solid sulfur prices were steady at the week-ago $74-$77/mt FOB level, players said.

Alberta:

Alberta netbacks were unchanged at (-)$34-$11/mt FOB, and included both molten sulfur cargoes contracted into the US market and prilled tons exported through the Vancouver market.

West Coast:

West Coast solid sulfur prices continued at $74-$77/mt FOB. Molten sulfur contracts were valued at $60-$62/lt FOB for the second quarter, rising from $50-$55/lt FOB in 1Q.

China:

China sulfur prices moved up slightly during the week, to $105-$110/mt CFR from $105-$107/mt CFR at last report.

ADNOC:

Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) solid sulfur postings were noted at $87/mt FOB Ruwais for May loading, a 2.4% increase from $85/mt FOB in April.

Qatar:

Sources reported Muntajat posted prices for May at $86/mt FOB Ras Laffan, rising 3.6% from April’s $83/mt FOB offer.

Ammonium Thiosulfate

Eastern Cornbelt:

The ammonium thiosulfate market remained at $285-$310/st FOB in the Eastern Cornbelt, with the lower reported in Illinois and the high at Cincinnati.

Western Cornbelt:

Ammonium thiosulfate pricing was unchanged at $285-$300/st FOB in the Western Cornbelt, depending on location.

California:

Ammonium thiosulfate remained at $325-$340/st FOB in California in late May.

Pacific Northwest:

The ammonium thiosulfate market was unchanged at $305-$315/st FOB in the Pacific Northwest, with rail-DEL offers reported in the $295-$305/st range on a spot basis.

Western Canada:

Ammonium thiosulfate pricing was steady at C$480-$485/mt DEL in Saskatchewan.

CAN

California:

CAN-17 in California was pegged at the $330/st FOB level at Stockton and Helm in late May.

Pacific Northwest:

The CAN-17 market was steady at $332/st FOB Kennewick.

Germany:

Following Yara’s price announcement last week, other major Western European producers were reportedly offering CAN slightly higher at €255/mt CIF. On May 21, however, Yara announced a new higher price of €265/mt CIF, pushing the range in Germany this week to €255-€265/mt CIF. Robust demand is expected in June following long spells of rainy weather.
