Savannah-Gavilon Fertilizer LLC said Jan. 27 that it has commenced business operations in France. The Versailles-based Gavilon France SAS began merchandising and distributing granular urea and UAN solution, as well as other nitrogen, phosphorous, and potash fertilizer products, in January 2010. “We are pleased to be expanding our international presence in France, which is a major granular urea and UAN solution importing country,” said Brian Harlander, president of Gavilon Fertilizer. “Gavilon France will also market a full range of N, P and K fertilizers, including prilled urea, P2O5 and K2O.” Gavilon France, located at 85 Avenue de Saint Cloud in Versailles, will be managed by Philippe Schrapp, who will serve as managing director. A 20-year veteran in the fertilizer industry, Schrapp was previously founder and chairman of Francefert SAS in Le Chesnay, France.
