Harvey seeks investors for rebuild

Harvey, Iowa-Reconstruction has not yet begun at the Harvey Products Inc (HPI) facility following an August 2006 fire that destroyed a building and equipment used in limestone and gypsum palletizing (GM Aug. 26, 2006). “We plan to rebuild once we’ve secured additional investors,” said President Floyd Meeker. “Plans are in place to construct a state of the art facility. In current market conditions, there’s high demand for quality palletized limestone and gypsum products. With the current assets (equipment) in place and a favorable location, HPI is well positioned to take advantage of this growing market.” The 18-acre facility and remaining buildings and equipment are currently being operated as a terminal and distribution center for incoming and outgoing rail cars and tractor trailers. The facility, managed by Craig Kauffman, is located near Harvey, Iowa, about 47 miles southeast of Des Moines.
