Kemira given two years to develop mine

Helsinki-The Finnish Ministry of Trade and Industry has issued Kemira GrowHow a two-year time period to start mining operations in the Sokli area. The decision by the ministry did not grant Kemira GrowHow the five-year extension for mining rights that the company applied for. If the limited period of two years is not enough and Kemira GrowHow believes that it is possible to develop the deposit and pursue the opening of the mine, the company may again apply for mining rights. The Sokli mine area is located at Savukoski in Eastern Lapland, where it is possible to extract niobium and phosphorus.
