Spur Ventures Inc. has announced that Dr. David Zeng has been appointed director of market development, reporting to Joel Jeangrand, vice president of corporate development. He will be based in Beijing. Zeng, a native of China, holds a B.A. from South China Agricultural University and a PhD in soil science from the University of California, Davis. He has held key positions in China with Cargill Fertilizers, now Mosaic Co., and has also worked as a research scientist with the Guandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
UAP Holding Corp. has named Steven Gold as an independent director, effective Jan. 10, filling a seat vacated by Marc Becker. Gold is senior vice president and chief supply chain officer of PepsiCo. Previously, he was managing director and vice president of BearingPoint’s supply chain solutions practice.
