The Fertilizer Institute has appointed Katherine English to the position of vice president of government relations. English comes from the Capitol Hill Consulting Group, where she served as vice president and general counsel. Previously, English served as counsel for the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW). As EPW counsel, English handled legislative issues such as Superfund and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and directed all committee oversight and investigations of agencies under committee jurisdiction, including the Department of Transportation, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the Department of Interior. Prior to joining the EPW committee, English served over two years as counsel to the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. She was also an assistant district attorney in Cleveland County, Okla.
English is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law and Oklahoma State University. She will head up TFI’s existing government relations team, which consists of TFI Directors of Government Relations Kris Ballweg, Bob Tadsen, and Everett Zillinger.
