Jørgen Ole Haslestad on Oct. 1 took over as president and CEO of Yara International, replacing Thorleif Enger, who reached his desired retirement age. Haslestad, 57, spent 14 years at Siemens in senior executive positions around the world. In 2001 he became Group President of Siemens Industry Solutions Services, a group with annual turnover of about US$12 billion. After Siemens’ reorganization he became CEO of the Industry Solutions division in January 2008. He also served as a board member for both Yara and Tandberg since 2004.
Frit Industries Inc. has announced the addition of Greg Mather as area sales manager. He will be based out of Odessa, Mo., and will be responsible for sales in the upper Midwest region.
Potash One Inc. has named Douglas Forster to its board of directors. The company says he has over 27 years of experience in the mineral exploration and mine development industry. Over the past 20 years, the company says he has been a founder, advisor, senior executive, or director of numerous publicly traded mineral exploration and mine development companies, including Taseko Mines Limited, Continental Gold Corp., El Condor Resources Ltd., North American Metals Corp., Farallon Resources Ltd., and Rubicon Minerals Corp. Forster is currently president and CEO of Featherstone Capital Advisors Inc., which provides general corporate development, financial, and capital markets advice to growth-oriented companies in the mining sector. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Geology, and is a registered member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. He is also a director of Calibre Mining Corp., a gold-copper mineral exploration company.
