Dmitry Mazepin, chairman of the board of directors of Russian fertilizer producer UralChem OJSC, has been elected vice president of the International Fertilizer Association in the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The election was held May 27 at the annual IFA general meeting, which took place in conjunction with the 77th IFA Annual Conference in Shanghai, China. In his new role, Mazepin will be working to develop cooperation with mineral fertilizer industry representatives, government authorities, and research and development institutes. He will also assist in conducting IFA’s policy and organizing IFA events in the countries of those regions. “This election obliges me to develop mutually beneficial cooperation among the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the sphere of mineral fertilizer production on behalf of IFA,” Mazepin said. “I intend to extend my best efforts to further strengthen the international community of fertilizer producers.”
The Sulphur Institute (TSI) reports that Omni Sulphur Inc. has joined the organization. Omni Sulphur is based in Arroyo Grande, Calif., and has an office in Calgary, Alberta. Omni designs, engineers, installs, owns, and operates sulfur forming and sulfur bentonite fertilizer operations. Most recently, Omni installed plants in Mumbai, India, and Dubai, U.A.E.
