CF Industries Holdings Inc. on Aug. 17 announced that Terrell Huch has joined the company as senior director, investor relations and corporate communications. He succeeds Charles Nekvasil, who retired July 31 after leading and executing CF’s investor relations strategy from the time of its IPO in 2005.

Prior to joining CF, Huch was the senior director of investor relations for ArvinMeritor Inc., a leading global automotive supplier. Prior to ArvinMeritor, he held a number of financial positions of increasing responsibility with Ford Motor Co., including manager, international investor relations.

Huch earned his BA in Economics at Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. He also holds an MBA in Finance from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.


Gaylon Pfeiffer was elected chairman of the Florida Fertilizer & Agrichemical Association (FFAA) in July during FFAA’s 77th annual meeting in Naples. He is a value chain specialist in Tampa for BASF Corp. Justin Bunch, marketing manager-Florida division for Crop Production Services in Mulberry, was elected FFAA’s vice chairman. Larry McCauley, an account manager based in Lakeland for DuPont Crop Protection, was elected secretary/treasurer.

Outgoing FFAA 2007-2009 Chairman Brent Sutton was thanked for his leadership and received a chairman’s plaque featuring a meeting gavel engraved with his name and years of service. Sutton, a resident of Dade City, is president and general manager for Growers Fertilizer Corp., Lake Alfred. He will continue to serve on FFAA’s executive committee as immediate past chairman.


Gavilon Holdings LLC has announced the appointment of Dr. James Newsome to its board of managers. He will also serve as chairman of the board’s newly formed compliance committee, which is responsible for directing company management in the establishment, review, and enforcement of regulatory compliance and legal policies and procedures.

Dr. Newsome has served as a director of CME Group Inc., the world’s largest and most diverse derivatives exchange, since August 2008. He previously served as CEO of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) since March 2006 and president of the NYMEX since August 2004. Prior to that, Dr. Newsome served as chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission upon U.S. Senate confirmation in December 2001.
