CHS Inc. cut several jobs in its crop nutrient division Jan. 12, with the top victim being Tim Chrislip, director, product management and business development. CHS told Green Markets that fewer than 25 positions were eliminated, with those coming from the Minneapolis office and outlying area. No Tampa jobs were cut.
The move was made to refocus crop nutrients more toward the customer and drive accountability to the regions. CHS said the move had nothing to do with the recent sale of Agriliance LLC retail outlets.
Jeff Greseth, a 30-year veteran of the CHS cooperative system, will now become the director of sales and supply, adding supply to his previous title. He will report to Cheryl Schmura, vice president, crop nutrients, who has held the position for the past few years (GM Aug. 6 and Sept. 3, 2007). She in turn reports to Mark Palmquist, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Ag Business.
CHS crop nutrient employees remaining in place include Cathy Eckman, director, operations, and David Klima, director of facilities.
Joe Myhra continues at industrial sales, and Frank Edwards at retail, both reporting to Schmura.
