Owensboro, Ky.-Ohio Valley Ag, a precision agricultural spray and fertilizer application company with locations in Owensboro and Russellville, Ky., announced last week that it is buying the AgriMart equipment and machinery division of Miles Farm Supply, headquartered in Owensboro. Ohio Valley Ag said in a news release that the acquisition will give it access to new markets in Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana. Late last month, industry sources reported that Crop Production Services (CPS) Inc., the retail business operated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Agrium Inc., was negotiating to buy Miles Farm Supply. It was reported at that time that Miles had alerted key vendors that the CPS acquisition would be complete Nov. 19. No other details were available last week. Ohio Valley Ag’s acquisition of AgriMart is separate from the CPS transaction.
