Potash One starts buying equipment

Vancouver-Junior potash exploration company Potash One Inc. reports that it has started buying equipment as a prelude to its plans to begin production at its proposed potash solution mine as early as late 2013. Potash One has placed the first order for the long-delivery alloyed materials required to fabricate the evaporation/crystallization equipment. It says the evaporation/crystallization plant is the core of the Legacy processing facility, and it is being designed and provided by Whiting Equipment Canada Ltd. This initial material order of Inconel?äó-clad steel plate will enable Whiting to deliver the major equipment to the Legacy site starting in 2012. In addition to maintaining the project schedule, Potash One said the purchase allows it to take advantage of reduced pricing and readily available shop space currently offered by suppliers. As noted by Whiting, prices and delivery times are substantially less than they were one year ago. Further, as the worldwide economic recovery progresses and nickel prices start to rise, the cost of these alloys will only increase. Potash One argues that as a solution miner, it has two principal advantages over conventional mining plans: relatively lower capital cost, and a shorter implementation time to production.
