Houston-Cleanup crews spent three days recovering ammonium nitrate from four fertilizer hopper cars that were among 29 of 116 on a westbound Union Pacific (UP) freight train that derailed southwest of here Monday, Nov. 23, on tracks that run adjacent to a busy highway (GM Nov. 30, p. 11). Very little of the fertilizer was lost, according to a UP report.
