SSP

Brazil:

The landed price of SSP 19-21 increased slightly, to $210-$240/mt CFR from last week’s $210-$235/mt CFR, with offers from multiple origins represented in the range. Despite limited activity, the Rondonópolis SSP market followed the broader phosphate market to $350-$370/mt FOB, a $5/mt increase from last week.

Phosphoric Acid

Eastern Cornbelt:

June phosphoric acid pricing was reported at $10.50/unit rail-DEL in the Eastern Cornbelt.

Western Cornbelt:

The phos acid market continued at $10.50/unit rail-DEL in the Western Cornbelt for June tons.

California:

June phos acid reference prices in California were unchanged from May at $12.85/unit rail-DEL, with MGA posted at $13.05/unit FOB Lathrop.

Pacific Northwest:

Phos acid reference prices in the Pacific Northwest were steady at $12.85/unit rail-DEL and $12.35/unit FOB Pocatello, Idaho, for June tons, unchanged from May.

Ammonium Polyphosphate

Eastern Cornbelt:

10-34-0 was unchanged at $565-$575/st FOB for the latest offers in the Eastern Cornbelt.

Western Cornbelt:

10-34-0 remained at $550-$575/st FOB in the Western Cornbelt, depending on location.

California:

10-34-0 was unchanged at $587-$592/st FOB in California, with 11-37-0 pricing quoted at $640-$645/st FOB for June.

Pacific Northwest:

The 10-34-0 market was steady at $575-$585/st FOB in the Pacific Northwest, with the latest 11-37-0 offers quoted at $630/st FOB and $620/st DEL in Idaho and Utah.

Western Canada:

10-34-0 prices were unchanged at C$990/mt DEL in Western Canada for June shipments.

Muriate of Potash

US Gulf:

The NOLA potash market remained at $290-$300/st FOB based on the latest trades, unchanged from last week. While several industry contacts said $285/st FOB deals could readily be had, no actual barge business was confirmed at that level during the week, while others speculated that the lower numbers involved upfront rebates.

Eastern Cornbelt:

Potash remained at $340-$360/st FOB in the Eastern Cornbelt, with the low reported on the Illinois River. The Cincinnati market was steady at $350-$355/st FOB in mid-June. Sources reported no fill program offers from producers during the week.

Western Cornbelt:

Potash was flat at $340-$360/st FOB in the Western Cornbelt, with the low reported at St. Louis and the high in Iowa.

California:

Potash was steady at $525-$548/st FOB or DEL in California for the last offers.

Pacific Northwest:

Potash was unchanged at $490-$503/st FOB or DEL in the Pacific Northwest, with the high reflecting reference pricing for 62% MOP and the low for 60%. Potash postings from Intrepid FOB Moab and Wendover, Utah, remained at $455/st FOB for 60% white standard and $460/st for 60% white granular.

Western Canada:

Truck pricing for potash at the mine in Western Canada remained at C$540-$545/mt FOB for 2Q shipments, depending on grade.

Northwest Europe:

Potash prices in Northwest Europe declined slightly for both granular and standard product this week amid sluggish demand. No new-season prices were forthcoming but discussions are underway, with ample supply fueling bearish expectations. Granular potash in Northwest Europe was quoted at 330-€350/mt CIF, while standard potash was reported at €315-€330/mt CIF.

Southeast Asia:

Standard potash prices in the region were flat at $280-$300/mt CFR, as market participants were once again left without price direction from the long-awaited India contract settlement. The new annual contract has reportedly been postponed until a new government is installed following the recent national elections in India.

Granular potash prices were also flat at $335-$355/mt CFR. Further details were reported on the recent Indonesian tender for 250,000 mt, with the award split between two Russian, one Belarusian, and one Jordanian company.

Brazil:

Potash imports continued at the week-ago $305-$315/mt CFR level, with players describing a sense of stability in the market. May imports to Brazil were up compared to the same period in 2023.

The inland market’s price stability seen in recent weeks has continued to present a favorable barter ratio compared to other products. Rondonópolis prices firmed to $420-$450/mt FOB, up $5/mt from the week-ago $445/mt FOB high.

Brazil imported 5.4 million mt of potash in January-May, according to Trade Data Monitor, a 13% decline from the year-ago 5.8 million mt. Russia sent 1.9 million mt, Canada shipped 1.8 million mt, and Uzbekistan added 702,000 mt. May imports were 1.6 million mt, up 30% from 1.3 million mt in May 2023.

Sulfur

Tampa:

Second-quarter Tampa molten sulfur contracts were noted at $81/lt CFR, up 17.4% from the first quarter’s $69/lt CFR level.

US Gulf:

The US Gulf sulfur market softened to $77-$81/mt FOB, off 5.4% from the prior $82-$85/mt FOB.

Brazil:

Sulfur prices were stable at $104-$106/mt CFR in Brazil.

Vancouver:   

The Vancouver prilled sulfur market pulled back to $69-$74/mt FOB during the week, down from $74-$77/mt FOB at last report.

Alberta:

Alberta sulfur estimates continued at (-)$34-$11/mt FOB. Molten cargoes contracted into the US market set both the high and low of the range, while solid tons sold through the Vancouver export market were noted toward the range’s high side.

West Coast:                  

The West Coast prill market softened in line with Vancouver, to $69-$74/mt FOB from last week’s $74-$77/mt FOB. Second-quarter molten contracts were reported at $60-$62/lt FOB, up from $50-$55/lt FOB in 1Q.

China:

Sulfur imports to China were unchanged at the week-ago $101-$105/mt CFR level.

ADNOC:

Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) sulfur was posted at $80/mt FOB Ruwais for June loading, an 8.0% decrease from $87/mt FOB in May.

Qatar:

Muntajat offers for June were reported at $79/mt FOB Ras Laffan, off 8.1% from May’s $86/mt FOB price.

Sulfuric Acid

US Gulf:

US Gulf sulfuric acid imports were steady at the prior $130/mt CFR level.

Brazil:

Brazil sulfuric acid import prices continued in the $130-$140/mt CFR range, players said. Limited availability was reported from Europe at $80/mt FOB, while sources continued to note the latest business into Argentina in the $150-$160/mt FOB range.

Ammonium Thiosulfate

Eastern Cornbelt:

The ammonium thiosulfate market was steady at $285-$300/st FOB in the Eastern Cornbelt, with the low at Cincinnati and the high in Indiana.

Western Cornbelt:

Ammonium thiosulfate was pegged at $280-$305/st FOB in the Western Cornbelt, depending on location, with the low confirmed at Waterloo, Iowa.

California:

Ammonium thiosulfate pricing remained at $325-$340/st FOB in California.

Pacific Northwest:

The ammonium thiosulfate market was unchanged at $305-$315/st FOB in the Pacific Northwest, with rail-DEL offers reported in the $295-$305/st range on a spot basis.

CAN

California:

CAN-17 was pegged at the $320-$330/st FOB in California, with the low confirmed at Stockton and the high at Helm.

Pacific Northwest:

CAN-17 pricing was steady at $332/st FOB Kennewick, Wash., in mid-June.

Germany:

Yara increased its CAN price in Germany by €10/mt on June 10, to €290/mt CIF for August deliveries. However, with application nearly concluded and demand reportedly muted, CAN prices in Germany remained flat at €265-€280/mt CIF this week.
